Halloween 2011

We had a MUCH happier Halloween weekend this year and had a full week of fun celebrating more than just a spooky Holiday.  On Saturday we celebrated Annalee's Birthday and since we couldnt bring in the BIG 50 with much joy last year, we decided that we would celebrate the BIG 51 the right way!  Special friends and close family came from near and far and we celebrated in style.  This past year has been probably the most challenging ever for Annalee, my dad, and well...most of the family, so it was awesome for us all to be together to celebrate.

Also Fun was that Yai-Yai came into town for a whole week.  I can't tell you how nice it was to have my Mommy around and Kellan sure loved his special time with her since its not too often  they see each other.

I decided Kellan should be Yoda this year...mostly because it was an easy and cheap costume.  (Daddy doesn't know this, he just thinks i'm super cool for chosing a Star Wars character...he doesn't know that I haven't even seen all the Episodes.) Regardless, Kellan hated his costume and wore it for approximately 5 minutes. His favorite moments of Halloween included ripping the Yoda Hat off his head and throwing it on the floor, passing out candy by the double-fisted handful, and hitting grandpa and Daddy with the Yoda stick thingy. At lease he had some fun. Below are a few pictures captured from Kellan's brief moments as Yoda and a few pictures with Yai-Yai:

Dear Time

Where have you gone?

I feel a little bogged down lately.  Between the events surrounding the end of October, I feel stretched to the max.  The new job is good.  Its going to be great one day, but right now, i'm the newbie and i'm struggling to fit in and do the job right.  Mister Kellan is a little pistol.  When i'm sitting at my desk I can hear him screaming in the daycare down the hall. He even screamed in the big bosses face today!  Ugh, Its official...I have THAT kid.  The screamer, the handful.  The daycare director told me today that we need to figure it out because he is requiring too much time of the teachers.  I feel terrible...all I could think to say was, "I can bring you some earplugs?"  She didnt laugh.  Poor little guy just isnt used to all the hustle and bustle of a busy daycare and its making it really tough for me to focus on my job on the days he's there but i'm grateful that he is...it's a two way street I suppose.

Halloween was quiet for us this year.  I didnt get to show Kellan off too much but I spent a lot of time thinking about where we where this time last year.  We had just moved in (3 days prior) and I found out I was pregnant on Halloween morning.  Now we've been here a year and made it home as much as possible and we've got a healthy mostly-happy sweet baby boy.  How blessed are we?
