My Kellan Turns 2!

This past Saturday, my sweet baby boy turned 2, thus justifying his toddler-like actions which include, but are not limited to:

-Frequent use of the Word No!
-The occasional "maybe more than occasional" attempt to hit and bite
-Kicking and Screaming to get his way
-Reluctancy to eat anything you put in front of him
-Using any food he is refusing to eat for throwing practice or as lotion (ie: yogurt)
-Running sprints down the hallway with his radio flyer and using the newly painted walls and doors as brakes

But also:

-Forcing Mom and Dad to sing "Wheels on the Bus" over and over
-Singing in the shower and begging to squiggy the walls....OK
-Engaging me in full on conversations about his day at school
-Swaddleing his baby doll and then himself (he will make the best big brother one day)
-Giving hugs that require a running head start and knock you over backwards
-Big wet kisses on the lips
-Helping mama in the kitchen especially with the pepper
-making you get up and dance at the end of his favorite movie Rio
-Going na-night in his big boy bed without any hassel
-Saying  "I love you Mama"

We had a fun weekend of celebration with friends and family at Sand Harbor.  We stayed on the beach until about 9:00pm, the sun was out, the water felt amazing and Kellan had a blast! Special thanks to all our family and friends that came out to help us celebrate!

On Sunday we took a happy little trip to the pumpkin patch.  Kellan had so much fun.  He LOVES pumpkin's...probably  because they resemble big orange balls.  But I think his most favorite part was the farm animals.  We saw "moo's" "baa's" and "oinks".  He's never seen animals like this in person and was absolutely thrilled!  It's so much fun to see the excitment he experiences in simple things.  I love my boy.  I also love my iPhone, because it takes pretty good pictures, some of which you can enjoy below:

Baby Steps

I know I am WAY over due for a post or two!  But in the meantime, here's a few videos from last night where our little Kellan made some BIG steps all on his very own.  Try to ignore the shrieks of joy from Mom and Dad and the "Blair Witch" filming style! Sorry for that.

Kellan's 1st Birthday

Am I the worst or what!?  My little Kellan turned 1 almost a month and a half ago and I have yet to share the deets of his first and very special birthday party!  First of all, let me start by saying I don't think this past year could have been any more crazy.  I mean, wow.  They tell you having a baby changes things, but holy cow, basically from the second you meet your little one, someone has pressed the fast forward button on your life.

My Sweet Little Sugar Lump

From the moment I could feel this little guy growing and dancing in my belly, I knew he was special.  But when I met him and held him and smelled him...I knew he was the love of my life.  I can't believe its already been over a year since I was waddeling around complaing that he was NEVER going to come and coming home from work only to walk straight to the backyard to stand under the running hose, fully clothed, because nothing could cool off my whale of body.  I was a joy, I'm sure.

Our Crazy-Happy Little Stink

1 Year later...here we are.  I've got a sweet, wild and crazy, happy little boy and I honestly he's more wonderful than I could ever dream! I did so much research and planning for his BIG ONE and in the end, threw up my hands and say, "we're keeping it family and we're keeping it easy." So, exactly 1 year and 1 hr to the day of his birth, we celebrated with family and had a wonderful stress-free mid-week afternoon party!

Kellan was awesome! He loved the party, he loved his birthday song, cake and all his presents.  Our family left happy...in party hats.  I couldn't have asked for more...except for better pictures and a cake that wasnt sporting the colors of the Mexican Flag.  I guess when you suggest to a baker to pick 3 bold colors for the inside of the cake, you should consider their nationality.   Super tasty cake none-the-less!

It's not perfect, but I think it gets the message across.  I'll be using this in our yearly albums that i'm endlessly trying to put together.  And by "endlessly" im referring to our dinosour of a desktop computer that does more "thinking" than "doing".

Miss Emree turns One!

Kellan's helped his first and favorite little friend celebrate her 1st Birthday this past weekend.  The party was gorgeous as Emree's Mama never ceases to amaze me, and Kellan had a great time.  In fact, he had such a great time that we left the party in one of Emree's shirts.  Yup, Kellan was "that guy" that had too much fun and ended up without his clothes on a the party.  That's my dude!
